慢性炎症(Chronic inflammation),又称“炎性衰老”(inflammaging),代表了一种随着衰老而发展的持续性、低度炎症活动状态。与有益且能自行消退的急性炎症不同,慢性炎症是有害的,会导致组织损伤、器官功能障碍,并促发与年龄相关的疾病,包括心血管疾病、神经退行性疾病、癌症和代谢紊乱。
